The late P.K. Narayanan Vaidyan had a heartfelt mission: to practice and promote the art of Ayurvedic treatment. This passion led him to establish the Sreechithra Ayurveda Pharmacy back in 1915. Born to Kunjiyan Vaidyan and a devoted disciple of Sree Narayan Guru Deva, P.K. Narayanan Vaidyan earned the title of Vaidya Kalanidhi and honed his skills under the guidance of many esteemed physicians. He even had the honor of serving as the physician to His Highness Sree Chithira Thirunal Maharaja of Travancore. But beyond his role as an Ayurvedic physician, P.K. Narayanan Vaidyan was deeply committed to social causes, living by the teachings of Guru Deva. He founded the “Kumara Vilasam UP Schools” to ensure education was accessible to all, and he also created a marketplace named “Padma Market” in honor of his eldest daughter, catering to the needs of the community. Sreechithra Ayurveda Pharmacy was his way of expressing gratitude to the Maharaja and making authentic Ayurvedic treatment available to everyone.
Continuing this legacy, Dr. N. Balaraman, the eldest son of P.K. Narayanan Vaidyan, proudly embraced the Ayurvedic tradition. He was not only a qualified Ayurvedic physician but also trained in allopathic medicine. His extensive knowledge, gained through years of practice, shaped him into a humble and approachable doctor. He upheld the principles and mission set forth by his father, maintaining the family's esteemed reputation.
Today, the family’s Ayurvedic legacy thrives with the fourth generation of doctors, all graduates from various Ayurvedic colleges across the state. Driven by a strong commitment to honor their family's heritage and the Ayurvedic tradition, Dr. Viviek Ajith, along with a dedicated team of qualified doctors, founded the Sreechithra Ayurvedic Health Care Foundation. In 2012, they established the Sreechithra Ayurvedic Hospital and Wellness Centre, followed by a branch in Chemmakadu village in 2013. The foundation's primary goal is to create hospitals and branches that promote traditional Ayurvedic practices and make Ayurvedic treatment widely accessible.

Abyangam
This is all about giving your body a loving massage with medicated oil, done in a systematic way that boosts circulation and helps those muscles relax. You can focus on specific areas that might be feeling a bit off, too. Abyangam is fantastic for melting away stress and easing the physical toll from travel and daily strain.
Shiro Dhara
Imagine a gentle stream of medicated oil flowing onto your forehead in a steady, soothing pattern. That’s Shiro Dhara! This technique is carefully controlled, taking into account the speed and volume of the oil. It’s been a game-changer for folks dealing with insomnia, stress, migraines, and various brain disorders. Depending on the patient’s needs, the oil can even be swapped out for medicated buttermilk or decoctions. The perks? A peaceful night’s sleep, reduced mental stress, and improvements in eye health and vision. It’s also beneficial for brain and developmental issues.
Njavara Kizhi (Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda)
In this treatment, we use a special medicated rice bolus wrapped in cloth, cooked in milk, to massage the body. This method is great for restoring muscle tone, enhancing nerve function, nourishing tissues, and strengthening tendons and the spine. It’s particularly effective for tackling neurological and spinal disorders. The standout benefit of Njavara Kizhi is its rejuvenating effects on muscles, tissues, and bones.
Pizichil (Sneha Dhara)
Picture warm, medicated oil being poured over your body in a steady stream, keeping the temperature just right. This treatment is both nourishing and healing, helping to alleviate musculoskeletal pain while strengthening your muscles, joints, and spine.

Even minor stress can lead to issues like lack of concentration, anxiety, insomnia, and hormonal imbalances that may affect fertility. Ayurveda offers effective solutions for stress management, unlike many other medical systems. Our treatments, including shiro vasti, shiro dhara, and shiro lepam, combined with internal medications, have shown great success in alleviating depression and psychosomatic disorders.
Welcome to our Joint Care and Rheumatic Care Clinic! As we age, particularly after 45, degenerative joint disorders can become a significant concern. However, in today’s world, lifestyle choices and poor nutrition have led to an alarming rise in arthritis cases, including Aamavata, or Rheumatoid arthritis. Our first approach to treatment focuses on internal medicines that help improve digestion while alleviating fever and swelling in the joints. We also recommend warm herbal fomentation and medicinal wraps, which work wonders during this phase. On the other hand, chronic arthritis, known as Sandhivata or Osteo-arthritis, typically doesn’t involve fever but can severely limit movement due to pain and swelling. For this condition, we utilize oil massages, specific herbal fomentations, local oil baths (sneha dhara), and a unique treatment called Shathika Pinda Swedam (Njavara Kizhi) to provide relief.
